Responding to the call of P.A.R.E. ni Juan and WWF-Philippines, the organization mobilize twenty-two(22) member youth especially from Nueva Ecija Chapter through the Pagasa Youth Association(PYA) to further campaign for the Renewable Energy Bill sponsorship at the Senate of the Philippines by Sen. Miriam Santiago, Monday, January 29, 2007.

 

  Roslyn Arayata which coordinates the event for WWF-Philippines distributed shirts to the participants and instructed them on the essence of Renewable Energy and what will they be doing to campaign for the passage of the bill.  Notebooks and t-shirts were distributed to some of the staff of the Senate as well as to the secretariat.  These shirts and notebooks campaigns about the importance of Renewable Energy. Together with other organizations, BROOD had been an active member of Positibong Alternatibo ang Renewable Energy ni Juan (P.A.R.E. ni Juan) and had joined various campaigns for the passage of the Renewable Energy Bill.  The news relayed to us by Roslyn Arayata, Volunteer & Spokesperson of PARE ni Juan network that the Renewable Energy Bill had been approved was a news that made us and fellow advocates happy and victorious.  The representative panels of the Senate and the House of Representatives concluded the Bicameral Conference for the Renewable Energy Bill Tuesday afternoon and the bill will be Ready for ratification in today's plenary sessions in both chambers of Congress. 

Baliwag, Bulacan joins the globe in the Global Day of Action Against Climate Change, December 8 through music and sounds.  18 independent bands joined the event entitled Signos: Musika at Tugtugan Laban sa Climate Change which started 7:00pm.  The Glorietta Park, Clock Tower, Rizal Monument and the vicinity was occupied by an audience estimated to range from 500 - 1,000.  Slam, dance and an active crowd joins the sounds of bands from various genre including Alternative Rock, Punk, Reggae, Metal and more.  This was also part of the Earth Caravan for the World Creative Youth Forum (WCYF) 2009 .  Also present during the event were Atty Ei and Gio of Team RP, Angelo from the United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines (UNYA), and the anonymous guest, Gov. Teddy Baguilar Jr. of Ifugao.
